The Nature Network

The Nature Network is a program for children and their families to connect with the world around them and with each other. Created to encourage imagination, collaboration, and curiosity, it is an immersive and flexible sensory learning experience.

Though each workshop has a focus, this is largely an opportunity for each child to engage with nature in the way that they choose. I firmly believe that hands-on exploration is a critical part of learning, as it provides the chance to get messy, ask questions, and try new things!

Weekend Workshop: The Scientific Method

How do scientists learn new things? They use the scientific method! As we explore ice and water, we will practice observing materials, making predictions, and drawing conclusions about what floats or sinks.

Weekend Workshop: All About Worms

Zitkala-Ša Park, Arlington, VA 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

We will explore live worms, make our own wiggling worms out of paper, and dig for gummy "worms" in pudding. (Allergy alert: this workshop contains food products. If you or your family has a food allergy, please notify me in advance so we can find a suitable substitute or take other precautions as necessary.)
